Mahjong 101 - Introduction

This is an introductory class to understand the basics of American Mahjong. Learn about the tiles, the NMJL card, how to deal, the Charleston, game play and more.

Mahjong 102 - Guided Open Play

You understand the 101 basics. During 102 we do a quick review then dive into game play. I guide you every step of the way to ensure you are confident playing.

Mahjong 103 - Strategy Open Play

Practice makes perfect! You’ve completed Mahj 101 & 102 and now you want to practice your skills, learn to play defensively and level up your game. I provide guidance and strategy tips.

I recommend all beginners take two lessons, Mahjong 101 and 102.

The first lesson focuses on understanding the game and the second lesson focuses on guided play.

Lessons are 2.5 hours.

I provide all the necessary Mahjong equipment including mats, racks, tiles, and NMJL cards.

For private lessons, card tables and Furbish Studio linens are available upon request. I ask that hosts provide the chairs.

Absolutely! I require a minimum of 8 guests or the equivalent value for private lessons.

For individual lessons, payment is due at the time of booking.

For private lessons and events, a $200 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking and full payment is due 48-hours prior to the event.

Individual lessons may be rescheduled up to 48-hours in advance without incurring any penalty fees. Cancellations received within the 48-hour window will forfeit the full lesson fee.

For private group lessons and events, the $200 deposit is non-refundable. You may cancel 7 days in advance without incurring any additional penalty fees. Cancellations received after the 7-day window require full payment.
